Everything about certified translation, answered plainly
Certification & notarisation
What is a certified translation?
A complete, accurate translation accompanied by a signed statement from the translation company confirming its accuracy. Agencies such as ICA and MOM require this for foreign-language documents.
What is a notarised translation?
A certified translation with a Notary Public's attestation added. Typically required for court proceedings, overseas use and some embassy applications. We arrange the notarisation for you.
What is legalisation or an apostille?
Legalisation authenticates a document for use in another country. Since Singapore joined the Apostille Convention, most documents need an apostille from the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL). We can manage this step as part of your order.
Do you use machine translation?
No document is delivered machine-only. Every certified translation is produced and verified by qualified human translators.
Turnaround & pricing
How long does a birth certificate translation take?
Usually within one working day. Same-day delivery is available for orders confirmed before noon.
How is pricing calculated?
Standard one-page civil documents are flat-fee. Longer documents are priced per page or per word, confirmed before work begins — no surprises after the fact.
Do you deliver hard copies?
Yes — courier delivery island-wide, or collection by appointment. Soft copies are always emailed first.
Requirements by agency
What does ICA require for foreign-language documents?
ICA requires an English translation of any foreign-language supporting document, produced by a translation company with a certification statement. For some applications a notarised translation is required — we confirm the correct format for your application type.
Can you translate my foreign driving licence for LTA?
Yes. LTA requires a certified English translation of non-English driving licences for licence conversion. This is one of our most common same-day orders.
What about documents for use overseas?
Documents leaving Singapore usually need notarisation plus SAL apostille. Tell us the destination country and we will confirm the exact chain required.
